I guess Rudolph now must have visited, hopefully with a lot of gifts and happy moments. He is always in my home, and some years ago there were also reindeers behind the house for months during winter.
And some photos of my real friends. From back then. My Rudolph friends. More photos of reindeers with this link.

the carved wooden one is really nice, though those real ones are so lovely! z
Love the first image, but also love the 2 real reindeer, especially the reflections in their eyes.
Jolie collection
Bon dimanche
Nice photos, including the album.
One comment . . . probably just me, but I have a predisposition when I see an animal with the white of the eyes showing, half-way around or more, to think of it as being fearful, mad (as in crazy), or both. It seems a lot of the shots have the reindeer showing the white of their eyes. Probably a byproduct of the architecture of their eyes, as they do not seem frightened or in distress. Still gives them a disconcerting look (for instance, the last photo above).
Like I said, nice photos, regardless how they come across. As for the little models, I’m partial to the plain wood carving.
Not mad, not fearful, Disperser. Since I was mingling with these two (and one more) many times a day, for months. Maybe curious, since normally you normally don’t go just in front of a reindeer staring at him or her. With these I could crawl over or under or harnass or anything. But they are watching of course, with their big, round eyes.
Reblogged this on SAVE OUR PRECIOUS ANIMALS.
Bente, they are beautiful. Gorgeous pictures
Thanks, Chocolatier.
Happy New Year Bente… take care of Rudolph for us until next year please
hahaha
I’ll do, Happy New Year, Bashar.
What a cool reindeer collection you have. Happy New Year!
I have more… Happy New Year!
I love that you collect reindeer. Beautiful.
A great animal to collect, Tuxedo.
Lovely – reindeers are charming animals…
Very charming. Like angels, never any noise.
There is so much fear in his eye. Better I look at the first pictures, that`s easier for my little soul.
Not really fearful, Hausgeist. Here is my answer to Disperser: Not mad, not fearful, Since I was mingling with these two (and one more) many times a day, for months. But maybe curious. You don’t normally go just in front of a reindeer staring at him or her. With these I could crawl over or under or harnass or anything. But they are watching of course, with their big, round eyes.
Ah, now I can see it differently. They are such nice animals.
Must say that even the nonreal ones are lovely…
Hi,
I love the reindeer with the baby very nice, and it seems you got “the look” from the real reindeer, great photos.
Thanks, Mags! Happy New Year!
Cute, cute, cute and specially the last one, watching you and all.
Reindeers are very cute, and I was lucky to have such freinds. Thanks, Marielba.
I am impressed-rare. Thank you for sharing. Happy New Year!
Thanks, Happy New Year too!
Happy New year to you as well!
I like your collection, and especially the photos of the real ones. They have such character!
Thanks, Montucky. You don’t usually see reindeers in this way, as they are usually not tamed.
Such dreamy shots Bente! Happy New Year
Thanks. Happy New Year to you too. I thing New York would have been something at newyear!
Hi Bente. I made a comment on this post but don’t see it and wonder if you took it the wrong way. I saw your reflection in the reindeer’s eye and could see that you were lying down so I made a little joke. I hope you did not think it was a criticism.
Take care and happy New Year.
Hi, Steve. Strange thing, don’t see it either, but I certainly didn’t take any comment away. And I did get the notice (email)… Absolutely no bad feelings. A couple of people see the reindeers as fearful. If they were they would run away, reindeers are made to react upon danger instantly. Happy New Year!
They are all gorgeous, Bente. Happy New Year – best wishes to you and your family.
Thanks Karen. Happy New Year to you too.
I love your collection. Of course I love the animals you collect too. I just read a little article how some reindeer are having trouble getting to their food because of the weather change. Oh, I tell you. What are we doing to the beautiful earth. Happy New year.
Thanks Karen. The biggest problem for the reindeers in the meager winter time is when the weather change between rain and freezingly cold. Snow they cope with fine, but ice make it hard to get to the food, that is the little food there is on the ground.
I wish you a very happy new year and a lot of inspiration for the new year.
Thanks and I hope for a lot of inspiration for you too.
A fantastic collection Bente. If they had reindeer here, I’d surely have some as well. Love how you captured them. Thanks for being such a fantastic blogger and I look forward to wonderful things in 2013. Happy New Year!
I must say likewise, Emily, and thanks. I am looking forward to following your blog in 2013.
Have been amazed and enchanted by the insight into reindeer life – presented through your blog. This is a lovely collection. Love the simple wooden one and all the others too. Your music posts, plant posts and insights into local life have also held me captivated. Thanks!! Best of luck for the New Year ahead.
Glad you enjoy some reindeer life. I must say your posts from the sunny and smiling part of the world is a great inspiration. So best of luck for you and yours in 2013.
Look gorgeous.
Reindeers are beautiful. One day i Hope going to see them in the winter . Thanks for your nice pictures.
I love these images, Bente! Deer are very special to me and I enjoy seeing your reindeer which are different from the white-tailed deer we have here in North America. The close-ups are amazing!
Haha their facial expressions are fantastic. I wonder if reindeer are just a bit paranoid.
