  2. Such beautiful photos, Bente.
I’m amazed they look so good with such icy cold temperatures last night.
I love the delicacy you’ve captured with the second photo – very nice indeed

    1. All plants around here have to tolerate changes in temperature, and some low temperatures, Victoria. But from now and 2-2.5 months it will probably not be any freezing nights..

  3. I think it seems normal to your country 🙂
When I saw summer-solstice sun in Narvic, the day before had sleet.
Yet locals were walking in half sleeved T-shirts, while I was wearing
thick woolly and Vietnam jacket. 🙂
    Beautiful photos. I like it.

    1. You know Yoshizen, when sun and warmth is so rare, it might last for 3 hours, or 30 minutes, thats why many norwegians throwh off most of their clothes even with only a glimpse of sun.

      1. Yah yah, I remember, under the bright sun, everybody
in a park was sun bathing naked. (—– though, when
they noticed me, they covered up in panic 😀
I was rather annoyed to be seen like a peeping tom.
Mind you, I was just passing without camera 😀 )

  4. I like these pristine white tulips. The climate in your country must be quite different from what we’ve got here. In my garden all tulips have gone over by now. But so many is happening that I don’t mind. There’s enough to be seen. Every day brings something new.

  5. So simple, pristine like the snow from which they emerged with the sun. They’re beautiful, Bente. I’m so glad to have seen them flowering, especially after last week’s snow:)

      1. So soon? What, about a week of Spring? How long will the summer last – I mean feeling the heat of the sun?

Though, having asked that question, it occurred to me that it’s not so much the heat of the sun that’s important for growth, is it? as long as it doesn’t freeze, those long, long days of sunshine will promote growth irrespective, won’t they?

      2. Yes, the plants around here, at least many of them, don’t require heat to grow, but they enjoy 20 hours of daylight now. The sun rises at 3 in the morning and sets at 23:30 at night. So it is never completly dark. This long day is good for plants who don’t have a long season…They have to hurry before winter.

  7. The first photo is magical. The light is shining so soft and warmth trough the petals. And white tulips and snow must be a beautiful combination. God helg! 🙂

  8. I´m living in apartment on the roof with so little light that tulips never get to blossom.
    I have cactuses instead.

  9. These pictures remind me that I need to take out my camera and get some photos of the wonderful day lilies that have been popping up around Maryland the past few days. It’s just a beautiful reminder that even the coldest nights and harshest conditions can bring true wonders the very next morning!
