Festival season starting now

The festival season has begun, and Sommerfestivalen starts tomorrow. This is one of the biggest music festivals in Norway, at least in my part of the country. One year it got 27.000 visitors. This year they want only 10.000 people, but that is a lot for a village of 4000 people. 4000 people living in an area of 1 235 km2. But I live quite near, so I better like the music. Which is mainly norwegian.  Here are some pictures from earlier years, that is 2007-2008. There are many more in my photo gallery, that is pictures from all the festivals from 2005 until now.

Dag Ingebrigtsen and Torstein Flakne, The Kids.

Kickoff Sommerfestivalen (Gimle), Sie Gubba.

Since it is mid summer, there is never dark, not even at night.

  1. Hej!

  2. I found you are pretty courageous too. 😀 (I know as I used be this kind of place often 😀 )
Even you had a Press-pass, the situation requires more power on elbow than the camera technique.
Still, you’ve done very well !

  3. Hi Bente, thanks for stopping by my blog and for the like! I love your photos of the countryside, the reindeer and cottages/cabins…everything looks so green. I’ve never been to Norway, but someday I hope to visit! Cheers, Rashelle

  4. In my younger days I used to go to every music festival I knew about — Live Aid, Farm Aid, Willie Nelson’s Fourth of July Music Festival……….. Now I’m kind of anti-big crowd, unless it’s the crowd on WordPress — lol

  5. It’s festival season over here too – accompanied by fields of mud (so I’m told). All part of the fun, if you’re young. Nice set of images, Bente.
