Horses are among the most beautiful animals. I walked in the village the other day (or actually a couple of weeks ago), and I looked at grass growing and fields turning green. And I admired a couple of horses on a pasture. Suddenly I realized that part of the fence was destroyed. So did the horses, and suddenly they were loose. Running through the landscap at full speed. I run to the nearest farm. The wrong one. But a girl there run to the right one, and the owner went after the two horses. I hope she succeeded and all went well. Even with the field. Here is a link to more photos of horses.
They are happy running free like that….like a dog that escapes the house. 🙂

I could recognize the newly escaped behaviour of a dog. Freedom, joy, surprise and maybe some recklessness.

I hope they enjoyed their run, but hope they were safely returned to their home pasture. Beautiful photos.

That is a nice remark, Yoshizen. Thank you. I forgot to mention these are taken with my quite new Olympus OM-D E-M10, that is a small and mirrorless camera. It is not bad, but not used to it yet. Very handy size.

In that case, Olympus may appreciate for their
catalog sample.
(In fact I’m also considering those mirrorless camera,
or even a compact camera from Panasonic.)

My plan: so small it will always be there. I hope it works. They say mirrorless is very good, but of course not the same control as with a DSLR.

Wonderful photos Bente. I particularly like the last one close up. It must have been horrible to see them escape. Let’s hope they found their way home again.

Thanks for coming over to my blog and liking some posts 😉 These pictures are so great, Bente, the last one is a masterpiece! I love horses, and used to go on horse trekking holidays often, I can imagine Norway has wonderful areas for such activities … but horses on the free run are magnificent, you really were lucky to “catch” them by camera ;-))

Wonderful Bente – horses running free. I feel bad for the farmer but am happy his horses got at least a few minutes to run with the wind!

I love to watch horses run, full of joy. It’s a wonderful sight. They are beautiful animals – so graceful. When I’ve been volunteering, I enjoy brushing them and combing their manes. They seem to appreciate that.

The horses running wild filled me with the fire of their spirits, and I had to share Bente’s wonderful post. I often find inspiration from the photos and stories she shares from Norway. I hope you’ll enjoy them too.

Our horse has escaped a few times. I think he loves to gallop around an unfamiliar place. But once the novelty wears off (which doesn’t take long) he wants the comfort and security of his pasture.
Beautiful photos.
