This work of art is normally not displayed. 52 stained glass windows was produced for the cathedral in Trondheim, Nidarosdomen, in the years 1879-1890. It was a gift to the church from the Norwegian king, Oscar II. But they were replaced with new stained glass windows in 1930 already, made by Gabiel Kielland. I saw some of the old ones, in a wonderful exhibition during the church festival in Trondheim in 2013. I hope many of you get a chance to see some wonderful, Christian artwork during this festive season. Merry Christmas too all! There are a few more on this link. All of these artworks were produced by the company James Powell & Sons in London, UK. The royal gift is owned by The Restoration Workshop of the Nidaros Cathedral/Nidaros Domkirkes Restaureringsarbeider.
A blog friend, Silkannthreads, just made me aware about other works with the same company, James Powell & Sons, one of Britain’s oldest glass manufacturers. I can recommend to also read this story and see the beautiful work of church art, depicting the Resurrection Morning, on this link.
God Jul, Bente.

I find it puzzling too, that these were replaced after so few years. They are all beautiful, the new, and the old ones too. Thank you and Merry Christmas to you too! Keep up the good work, pictures and words, and enjoy your plants of course!

I you see this link there are more information about a couple of the pictures, maybe not according to your question. http://bentehaarstad.photoshelter.com/gallery/Glassmalerier-Stained-Glass-Windows-Oscar-IIs-gift-to-Nidarosdomen/G00001gV84qSek9Q/C0000QUFJPth52Ec So I don’t know, about these boys. Maybe the biblical experts counl have the answer. Never theless, Merry Christmas and Seasonal Greetings to you, Yoshizen!
